The caladrius appears in Roman bestiaries: a bird with feathers like fresh snow, kept near the sick. It would take an illness into itself, fly toward the sun, and burn the sickness away. People trusted what looked back at them. We liked that.
From the tip of the country
Caladrius is cut and sewn in Leamington, Ontario — the mainland’s southern tip, where Point Pelee funnels half of North America’s migrating birds every spring. Twice a year the sky fills up and the whole town looks up. It keeps you honest about what deserves attention.
